About the Role

Practical Quality Management Systems (PQMS) is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of cybersecurity experience; with a focus on creating and implementing security measures for our information systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement security measures to protect computer systems; networks and data. • Anticipate vulnerabilities; threats and security breaches and design appropriate security controls to mitigate risks. • Conduct regular security audits to identify potential issues or breaches. • Maintain current knowledge of trends in security standards; technologies; threats and compliance requirements. • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure security best practices are in place and adhered to. • Coordinate incident response plans; including steps to minimize the impact and conduct post-event analyses to identify causes and corrective actions. • Provide technical and strategic guidance to IT leadership and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology; Computer Science; Cybersecurity or a related field. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cybersecurity role. • Strong understanding of firewalls; proxies; SIEM; antivirus; and IDPS concepts. • Familiarity with web-related technologies (Web applications; Web Services; Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols. • Knowledge of the latest security principles; techniques; and protocols. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
